‘Have Your Say’ returns in Chesham
Friday, July 31st, 2020
At the Forum’s well-attended May meeting, we learned how dealing with COVID-19 had stretched local police resources. Police Officers had been retasked to other duties, with the burden of local COVID-19 policing falling considerably on our PCSO’s. This, the lockdown and and the need to discourage people gathering together, meant the suspension of the regular ‘Have Your Say’ opportunities for the public to meet their neighbourhood police teams.
Good news is that ‘Have Your Say’ meetings are being resumed in Chesham. These occur from 11am to 1pm on the first Saturday of the months, hence:
11am-1pm Saturday 1st August
11am-1pm Saturday 5th September
11am-1pm Saturday 3rd October
11am-1pm Saturday 7th November
Dependent on the weather, there will be a crime prevention stall in the Market Place; in the event of bad weather, the event will be held in the shelter of the clock tower.
PPE masks will be worn by the police, and they ask public to respect the 2-metre distance if they wish to speak about particular issues or would like to receive crime prevention material and advice.
This is a welcome small step in what we hope will be a steady return to normality. We hope that many residents will take the opportunity.
